Ras Abou Galloum protectorate by Camel - FDE01 - The Camel Safaris is one experience that you will never forget - a unique adventure you won' t find anywhere else on this globe !! Ras abu Galum is located 8 km north of Dahab. The small fishing village is home to 5 or 6 Bedouin families, and is a Managed Resource Protected area. Ras Abou Galloum can be reached by Camel, Jeeps via Nuweiba or by boat. The Camel Safari is the most attractive . To get there one has to cross a few mountains by camels. There is a possibility to stay overnight with the Bedouins and do an early morning dive, ideal for spotting the bigger fish of the red sea. Also if you are not a diver this spot is interesting, worth its shallow reefs it is very snorkeler friendly. Early morning meet at the diving center early in the morning pick up our equipment and take the Jeeps to the Blue Hole, where the Camels will be waiting for us. Usually we take our breakfast in boxes from the hotel. After loading the camels and getting a brief intro on camel riding , we start the 1 1/2 hour camel ride to the first dive site. This is really an unforgettable experience , riding on a camel who is loaded with your diving equipment in the desert .... Upon arrival , a Bedouin tea is served and then we go for our first dive. After the first dive a Bedouin lunch is served , during our service interval there is time to relax with a Bedouin tea, sunbath , snorkel or just walk along the beach. After the second dive we relax a bit then start going heading to Dahab where we arrive at the diving center around sunset.
Gabr El Bint protectorate by boat protectorate - FDE02 - Gabr el Bint is located 25 km south of Dahab. It is famous for its very special dive sites. Still very calm and isolated the chances of seeing bigger fish are enourmous. Gabr El Bint means in arabic "the girl's grave" and there are different stories and mysteries around this name. Gabr el Bint can be reached both by camel and boat. And the Camel Safari can be of one day till up to 5 days. The area around Gabr el bint includes the the three canyons, the lagoon and a beautiful reef wall with fan corals. A day Camel Safari at Gabr el Bint : Early morning we meet up at the diving center where we are taken by Jeeps until the route stops. There we will meet up with the local beduin guides and the camels who will take us to Gabr el Bint. Usually we take our breakfast in boxes from the hotel. The ride to Gabr el Bint takes approximately 1 hour . Upon arrival we have some tea and head for our first dive. After the first dive a beduin lunch is served , durnig our service interval there?s time to relax with a beduin tea, sunbath , snorkel or just walk along the beach. After the second dive we relax a bit then start going heading to Dahab where we arrive at the diving center around sunset.
Grand safari - The Canyons - FDE03 - The Coloured Canyon presents one of the most magnificent rock formations in the world. The vegetation is very limited - lonely acacias, green cappers (capparis sinaica), tamarisk trees, willow trees, Sodom apples (which are poisonous) and desert pumpkin. Now, the rock formations are an incomparable attraction: they vary from sandstone to limestone, granite and veins of basalt dominate the scenery through the entire hike.
St. Katherine Protectorate - Sunrise or Sunset - FDE05- Mount Sinai (Moses Mountain) rises 2285m and is said to be where God revealed the we leave Ten Commandments to Moses. Mt Sinai is considered sacred by the Christian Jewish and Muslim religions. St. Catherine's Monastery is the smallest dioceses and the oldest Christian monastery still in use in the world. It also houses a rich collection of icons and precious manuscripts. With the exception of Fridays and Sundays, the monastery can be visited daily between 09:00 and noon.
